SPH students eligible for income support
Tuesday, 9 December 2008Students undertaking the Master of Public Health and Master of International Public Health may now be eligible for income support, Youth Allowance and Austudy, after the programs were included on an updated list of programs announced by Education Minister Julia Gillard.
SPH’s Public Health and International Public Health programs are two of only a handful of public health programs included in the list and SPH is the only university included that offers both 16 unit and 24 unit options for public health degrees.
The list of programs covers degrees offering qualifications required for entry into a profession, and is part of the Australia Government’s efforts to encourage students to undertake higher levels of studies in professional fields.
More information and a full list of eligible Masters coursework programs can be found here. Details on eligibility criteria for Austudy, Youth Allowance and income support is available from Centrelink
