Biography:

Dr lisahunter is currently employed across three projects within the faculty. Her .4 appointment in the School of Population Health is in research for the HPQ funded 'Eat Well Be Active' Evaluation. Her .3 and .2 appointment in the School of Human Movement Studies is in research for the 'Teacher Professional Development: Becoming a teacher in secondary HPE' ARC funded project and the 'Active Kids Active Minds' project funded through DETA. lisahunter draws from several theoretical areas including feminist, critical and queer theories to understand the construction of young people, particularly in relation to embodiment, subjectivities, movement, health and physical activity. Ongoing research and service interests in middle schooling, research methods with young people, primary-secondary school transition and boarding sports are reflected in her participation and initiation of research symposiums and publications. Her previous work prior to taking up contract work with the faculty was in middle years teacher education, and preservice health and physical education teacher education across a number of universities. She worked as a teacher in secondary and primary schools in Qld, England and Scotland prior to returning to university for doctoral work. She flies with the Sunshine Coast Helicopter Rescue Service as a Rescue Crew and plays with a surfboard or snowboard whenever the possibility arises.
