Biography:
Assoc Prof Fran Boyle is Head of the Health Systems & Policy Academic Discipline Group in the School of Population Health at The University of Queensland. She holds a BA (HonsI, Psych) and PhD from The University of Queensland. Fran has a long-standing research and teaching involvement in the psychosocial aspects of health and illness and in community health and primary health care. Her research focuses on social determinants of health, people’s experiences of health and illness in the community, and the development of models of care that draw on multi-dimensional and multidisciplinary models of health and wellbeing. She has significant experience in conducting large-scale community based surveys and in the integration of quantitative and qualitative methods. Current research projects include an investigation of the contributions made by community-based health organisations to people's capacity to manage chronic health problems; and the development of health literacy in the context of primary health systems.Qualifications:
